Line Operations · Delivered via LineOps
Who we are
Line Operations is a utility contractor coordinating dispatch, inspections, and payroll for its crew of lineman employees and contracted subcontractors. SMS messaging is operated on the Line Operations (LineOps) platform, a product of Hobbs Electric LLC.
What SMS messages we send
If you provide your mobile number during hiring, onboarding, or dispatch you may receive the following operational SMS from Line Operations:
- Storm call-outs — requests to respond to a specific job or storm, with location and start time.
- Inspection requests — links to complete vehicle pre-trip or scheduled inspections.
- Onboarding & document links — secure links to complete new-hire paperwork or renew expired documents.
- Two-way dispatcher chat — direct messages from your dispatcher regarding active work.
We do
not send marketing, promotional, or affiliate messages via SMS.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies — typically 1–20 messages per week, and may be higher or lower during active storm restoration events.
Costs
Line Operations does not charge for these messages. Message and data rates may applyfrom your mobile carrier.
How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive one confirmation message, then no further messages from us. Reply START to resubscribe. Reply HELP to any message for assistance.
How your number is collected
Your mobile number is collected during hiring — either verbally during onboarding conversation or via our secure onboarding form. In both cases you are informed that the number will be used for the message categories above and must provide explicit consent before it is saved.
What we do with your number
Your mobile number is stored securely within LineOps and is used only for the operational SMS categories above and, where you've provided consent separately, for return phone calls from dispatch. We do not sell, rent, or share your number with third parties for their marketing purposes. SMS delivery is handled by Twilio, Inc. under their terms of service.
Security & PII
Social Security Numbers are encrypted at the application layer (AES) before being written to the database. Only authorized administrators of Line Operations can view the last four digits. Uploaded documents are encrypted at rest as well, stored in an access-controlled volume, and served only through authenticated endpoints.
Data retention
Your profile, message history, and documents are retained for the duration of your employment or contractor relationship with Line Operations, plus any period required for tax, payroll, or legal compliance (typically up to 7 years). You may request deletion of non-required data by contacting
[email protected].
Your Social Security card
The image of your Social Security card is an exception to the retention period above. It is collected only to confirm that your legal name matches your card, because a mismatch breaks tax filing and direct deposit. Once your payroll enrollment is confirmed, the image is deleted from our systems, including our encrypted backups. Your Social Security number itself remains, encrypted, because payroll requires it.
